Edzo's Burger Shop is as simple and delicious as it comes. This place is about three things: freshly ground burgers, hand-cut fries and great milkshakes. Chef and owner Eddie, a culinary school graduate and veteran Chicago line cook, wanted to create an establishment that brought delicious comfort food to friends and families throughout the area. Let's start with the burgers, which are created only from American beef - USDA choice chuck. It is never frozen, always ground fresh in the morning and without preservatives or additives - just some salt and pepper when it is cooked. The hand-cut, twice-cooked French fries come as they are or in other varieties like buffalo, loaded or white truffle. As far as the shakes go, there is nothin' fancy here. Vanilla ice cream is hand-dipped and blended with flavors and milk on an old-fashioned Multimixer spindle machine. These devices blend slower than modern blenders - this yields a smoother, creamier finished product due to less air being whipped in.
